The unique Federal-style house was built in 1904. It was originally a private residence, and later was converted into a Moose Lodge. In 1970, Lynchburg Covenant Fellowship saw that substandard housing in the central city was at an all-time high. We purchased this home and converted it into eight units of housing for low-income individuals – our first attempt to provide good housing in the central city to those in need. Several of our residents have lived in this building for more than 15 years, and look out for each other like family. The eight apartments located in this house are part of the LCF Housing Program. LCF has been providing low-income housing to families, the elderly, handicapped and disabled for more than 50 years and providing non-profit services for more than for 70 years. We were very fortunate to be the recipients of two grants from The Andrew Horsley Easley and Anne Owen Easley Charitable Trust for a new roof and a new boiler system.
